Running our own affiliate store and paying for our own traffic
An in-house affiliate product site where we run the Meta advertising, own the pixel and conversion setup, and spend our own budget learning what actually converts.
The challenge
Most agencies market their marketing service without ever risking their own money on it. FyndsHub is our own product: a curated affiliate storefront where visitors browse listed products and buy through affiliate links, promoted to a United States audience with our own advertising budget.
What we built
- The affiliate storefront and product content structure
- Meta advertising campaigns targeting a United States audience
- Meta Pixel implementation and a named dataset for clean attribution
- Conversion event configuration, moving from a shallow button-click event to a genuine checkout-intent event
How we built it
Campaigns were run on small, controlled test budgets to validate creative and audience before committing spend.
Tracking was set up first. Without a correctly configured pixel and conversion event, ad performance data is noise.
Conversion events were tightened over time as we learned which signal actually predicted revenue.
Challenges we solved
- Optimising against the wrong event. An early setup optimised toward a button click, which is easy to trigger and weakly correlated with purchase. Moving to a checkout-intent event gave the platform a signal worth optimising against.
- Learning on our own budget. Testing on our own product means client campaigns do not pay for our education.
