A WooCommerce store plus a repeatable creative system
A cannabis e-commerce build in WooCommerce, extended into a documented banner and promotion design system so campaign creative could be produced consistently at pace.
The challenge
Regulated e-commerce has two problems at once. The store itself has to handle product catalogues, compliance and conversion properly. Then the marketing has to keep producing fresh promotional creative, week after week, without every banner looking like it was designed by a different person.
What we built
- The WooCommerce storefront and product catalogue
- A defined visual direction, premium and high-contrast, documented so it is repeatable rather than improvised
- A product banner template with a fixed anatomy: product image, title, price, a small set of highlights and a single call to action
- A promotional banner system covering percentage discounts, tiered spend thresholds, loyalty campaigns, contests and winner announcements
How we built it
The creative work was turned into a system rather than a queue of one-off requests, with brand rules, colour direction and layout anatomy written down.
Product banners were constrained on purpose. Fewer elements, consistently placed, outperform crowded catalogue-style layouts and are far faster to produce.
Promotional creative was treated as templated variants, so a new campaign is a content change rather than a new design.
Challenges we solved
- Creative consistency at volume. Ad creative usually drifts once several people touch it. Documenting the direction and the banner anatomy made output consistent regardless of who produced it.
- Urgency without looking cheap. Sale creative tends to trade professionalism for shouting. The promotion system was built to feel urgent and high-converting while staying uncluttered.
- Compliance-aware presentation. In a regulated category, product presentation has to stay professional. That constraint was built into the design rules rather than policed after the fact.
